NEW Yellowhair Brothers Art Show (Facebook Post) (1).png

The first event for summer 2025 is the opening of the Yellowhair Brothers Art Show, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, June 6, featuring the works of Kiowa and Apache artists Jeff, Leland, Ace, and Jackie Ray Yellowhair. The brothers are from the Buzzard Creek area near Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. Works in the exhibit will range from acrylic paintings and stone sculptures to beaded feather fans. The brothers draw their inspiration from sources such as tribal history, handgames, and the services of the Native American Church.

The Yellowhair show also coincides with the opening of the NDN Summer Concert Series that will begin at 7 p.m. with the music of Brother Painter, a Kiowa tribal member from Anadarko, Oklahoma, who performs both as a solo artist and as a member of the band Mescal Bears.

Both the exhibition and concert will be open to the public until 9 p.m. The Yellowhair exhibit will continue through July 11.

All events will take place at 609 Chautauqua Ave., near the University of Oklahoma campus.
